The Vanderbilts (Elliot Galvin, Kasia Witek, Raph Clarkson) are an innovative group established by composer/pianist Elliot Galvin, exploring the intersections between music, drama, and dance. Part performance art, part immersive music theatre, the group has thus far premiered Elliot’s piece ‘Nothing But Gaiety and Grief’, which featured Elliot on piano, toy piano, tape player and record player amongst other instruments, Kasia Witek dancing, speaking, singing and acting, and Raph Clarkson playing the trombone and narrating the story of American ‘robber baron’, capitalist Cornelius Vanderbilt, and his descent into madness. The above video was produced by Alex Morley.
